ATEX-certified equipment
What is ATEX?
ATEX(ATmosphères EXplosibles) is the European regulation governing the prevention of explosion risks in industrial environments where potentially explosive atmospheres may form. It applies to equipment, installations and workplaces likely to contain mixtures of air and flammable substances (gases, vapors, dusts). The aim of ATEX is to guarantee worker safety and prevent accidents linked to these atmospheres, by imposing strict standards for the design, installation, maintenance and operation of equipment. With regard to equipment certification, ATEX is based on the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU.
The ATEX certificate certifies that equipment or installations comply with safety standards for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. It guarantees that the equipment presents no risk of ignition or explosion in hazardous areas, in accordance with European ATEX directives. This certificate is issued after rigorous testing by a notified body.
The ATEX marking affixed to equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres indicates its compliance with European safety standards. It certifies that the equipment has been tested and approved for use in hazardous areas.
