Removable electric immersion heaters are designed to heat or maintain the temperature of liquids or viscous products contained in vats, tanks or industrial baths.
Installation requires the container to be open at the top or fitted with a manhole to allow the immersion heater to be inserted.
This equipment offers great flexibility of use. A single immersion heater can be used on several different tanks. They can be easily removed for cleaning or replacement, without draining the tank. There's no need to drill holes in the tank, and no need for special tapping.
Removable immersion heaters are widely used in a variety of industrial sectors, such as the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries, for applications such as heating up fluids, preventing crystallization, or fluidizing prior to unloading operations.
Fully immersed heating elements transmit heat directly to the fluid by natural or forced conduction (in the presence of an agitator), guaranteeing optimum thermal efficiency with no heat loss.
The immersion heater is made up of one or more stainless-steel, armored resistors and a watertight box to protect the electrical connections. Fixing devices are available as an option.
The unit can be fitted with a safety or control device(adjustable thermostat, Pt100 sensor or thermocouple), connected to the power supply or left at the customer's disposal for relaying.
Robust and reliable, removable immersion heaters are suitable for harsh industrial environments, including potentially explosive atmospheres, with ATEX and IECEx certified models.
Removable immersion heaters are used in a wide range of applications. Here are just a few examples:
For beer brewing, immersion heaters are ideal for the mashing, boiling and temperature-holding stages.
Keeping fuel oil tanks stored outdoors frost-free
Use in metallurgy, for heating quenching and tempering baths.
Removable immersion heaters consist of :
The minimum level must not cause the heating head of the shielded resistors to be de-liquidized. If necessary, fit a level switch.
Heating elements must not touch the sides or bottom of the tank.
Leave a minimum clearance of 50 mm at the bottom of the tank (if there is a risk of bath deposits).
The use of a suitable mounting bracket (optional) will facilitate installation.
Please refer to the instruction manual for all recommendations relating to the equipment.
