This tool presents the different possible coupling modes for electric heating resistors. These coupling modes depend on the number of phases, single-phase or three-phase, and the number of resistors present on the heating appliance (immersion heater, air heating coil, etc.).
3 calculation options are available to help you determine the power, voltage, ohmic value and current values of individual resistors or the entire device.
A single-phase voltage system comprises 1 phase and 1 neutral. It's most often found in private homes and offices, where it's used to power low-power appliances. Single-phase voltage varies from country to country, from 100 to 127 v (USA/Japan) to 200/240 V (Europe).
A three-phase voltage system comprises 3 phases with or without neutral. It is mainly used in industry to supply high-power machines and appliances. Three-phase voltage varies from country to country, most often from 380 to 400 V.
