Definition of the fluid to be heated

Calculate the power required to raise the temperature of a fluid (liquid or gas), in a single pass, circulating continuously in an air heater or heating coil.

The temperature difference between inlet and outlet is guaranteed to be established after several minutes of operation. On start-up, as all the equipment - heater body, coil casing, resistor tube - is at ambient temperature, it is not possible to instantly obtain the desired fluid outlet temperature.

→ This calculation is not applicable in the case where the fluid is heated progressively by successive passage through the heater.
