Highly compact tubular heating elements, available in various diameters and sheath materials, are sized according to their specific application.
Each tubular heating element consists of a sheath tube (1) (made of various grades of stainless steel or copper), which surrounds a centrally positioned heating conductor (3) insulated by highly compacted magnesium oxide powder (2).
The electrical connection is provided by connection rods (4), which are connected to the heating conductor and protrude from the ends of the tube while remaining insulated.
The ends of the tube are sealed using a sealing material (5) and a ceramic insulating bead (6).
Diameter of tubular heating elements | Maximum total length | Maximum allowable surface temperature
6.5 mm | 5000 mm | 750 °C
8.5 mm | 5900 mm | 750 °C
10.2 mm | 8500 mm | 750 °C
12.5 mm | 4500 mm | 750 °C
16.0 mm | 5000 mm | 750 °C
18.0 mm | 5000 mm | 750 °C
All tubular heating elements are manufactured with a power tolerance of +5 / -10%.
Length tolerances for bent tubular heating elements must be specified prior to placing an order.
Tubular heating elements with diameters of 6.5 mm, 8.5 mm, and 10.2 mm are available in the following materials:
1.4301; 1.4541; 1.4571; 1.459; 1.4828; 1.4404; 1.4876; and 2.4858.
Tubular heating elements with diameters of 12.5 mm, 16.0 mm, and 18.0 mm are available in the following materials:
1.4541 and 1.4876.
Special materials are available upon request.
