Electric metal heating belts are designed to raise or maintain the temperature of cylindrical drums containing liquids (water, oil, etc.) or viscous products (wax, tar, bitumen, etc.) up to a maximum temperature of200°C.
They are widely used in various industrial sectors (chemicals, food processing, cosmetics, etc.) to fluidize products before pumping or packaging, or to prevent cold crystallization.
Heat transfer is by conduction, via the smooth drum wall, without direct contact with the product. Thanks to their large heat exchange surface and low power density (1 W/cm²), they avoid any risk of carbonization of sensitive substances.
Lightweight, rigid, quick to install, waterproof and impact-resistant, these belts are particularly well-suited to demanding industrial environments.
Each belt consists of a shielded resistor soldered to a copper plate, which acts as a thermal distributor. Electrical connection is via a 2-pole male connector, integrated into an IP53 aluminum housing.
The belt is equipped with two handles and an adjustable spring-loaded clamping system, allowing quick installation and ensuring a secure fit on the barrel.
It can be fitted with an integrated control thermostat, adjustable from 0 to 200°C with automatic reset. The temperature is measured directly on the drum wall, guaranteeing precise, independent heating control.
Metal heating belts are used in a wide range of applications. Here are just a few examples:
Maintaining the temperature of products such as honey, chocolate, syrups or vegetable oils in drums prevents them from crystallizing or hardening. This facilitates in-line pumping and dosing during the bottling or packaging stages.
Heating solvents, industrial glues, resins or bitumens makes them easy to handle by adjusting their viscosity. This operation prevents the products from settling or solidifying before being used in a manufacturing process.
Reheating highly viscous technical greases or motor oils improves their fluidity, making them easier to use for machine maintenance or technical product formulation, particularly when filling, filtering or injecting into systems.
Metal heating belts consist of :
Handle the belt only with the bakelite handles in the de-energized state (to avoid risk of burns and injury to the operator, and destruction of the belt).
Check that the belt's clamping capacity corresponds to the diameter of the barrel to be fitted, and that the barrel where the belt is positioned is cylindrical, not grooved, smooth, and free from dents or deformation.
Preferably, position the belt in the lower, unfluted part of the barrel (in a vertical position), facing the product to be heated, so that the electrical connection socket on the housing points downwards.
Insert the female plug before switching on the power. Take the necessary precautions to ensure that the power cable does not come into contact with the belt.
