Definition and general information
Electric industrial unit heaters are designed to heat or maintain the temperature of industrial and agricultural premises, workshops, warehouses and so on.
They are widely used in various sectors (agri-food, nuclear...), notably to keep storage areas frost-free, to heat people (workshops, sports halls), and to maintain a constant temperature in agricultural buildings such as greenhouses.
Unit heaters operate on the principle of forced convection. It is equipped with a motorized fan that draws in ambient air and passes it through electrical resistors, where it is heated before being diffused into the room. This process ensures rapid, even heating.
The unit can be floor-mounted or wall-mounted using wall brackets, either built-in or available as accessories depending on the model.
It consists of one or more shielded electric resistors, either bare or finned, a motorized fan, and a casing with protective grilles at the air inlet and outlet.
The units can be fitted with an integrated control thermostat, or remotely controlled by a remote room thermostat, depending on the model.

Technical data
The unit heater consists of :
- An array of stainless steel armored heating elements, specially shaped to ensure optimum heat exchange, equipped with a temperature limiter.
- A motor-fan unit consisting of a large-bladed helical fan with 1500 rpm motor.
- A control panel with on/off switch, indicator light and built-in thermostat adjustment knob.
- An electro-galvanized, painted and baked sheet metal casing covering a double thermal insulation shell.
- A protective grille cut into horizontal air deflectors on the front panel.
